Background
Millions of animals enter the animal shelters nationwide each year. As this number keeps rising, the shelters are overpopulated and they are left with no other option but to euthanize some animals. There are organizations, rescues, foster homes, and individuals who are helping these animals as much as they can, but as the number of abandoned animals increase, resources become more and more limited. According to The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA), 20 to 30 percent of cats and dogs are adopted from shelters and rescues, twenty-six percent of dogs are purchased from breeders, and 2 to 10 percent are purchased from pet shops. This shows that given the option, people would rather adopt and save animals.
Bullies in Boarding will extend the helping hand to give these animals a chance to be adopted. The boarding facility is unique in that it will specialize in rescue animals. They will be worked with everyday to ensure they are potty trained and well mannered for their new family. For example, if a rescue has reached the maximum occupancy, they will not have to stop doing what they love. They can now turn to Bullies in Boarding to take a few fury friends for a day or two. This facility will help the rescue animals have a chance to live and be loved; doesn’t every living thing deserve that?
